Lucia Rijker (born December 7, 1967) is a Dutch professional female boxer and kickboxer. Her boxing record stands at 17-0 with 14 KO's. Her kickboxing record is currently 37-0 with 25 KO's. Her only loss was in an exhibition Muay Thai kickboxing match against a male opponent, Somchai Jaidee. She was knocked out in the second round of that competition. That loss notwithstanding, she is clearly one bad motherfucker.
Rijker has been on the cover of Inside Kung Fu magazine. As a professional boxer, she has been able to win the WIBF world Welterweight title, and she has beaten name fighters such as Marcela Acuna, knocked out in five rounds, and Sunshine Fettkether, ten round decision. Many of women's boxing's fans have been claiming for a meeting between her and Christy Martin for years. They are now scheduled to fight on July 30, 2005 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
After winning her first 14 fights, but failing to secure a match with Martin, Rijker stepped away from the sport in 1999 to pursue a career in Hollywood. However, she returned to the ring in February of 2002, and then defeated standout Jane Couch on June 21, 2003 for her 16th win without a loss. She went on to defeat Sunshine Fettkether on May 20, 2004.
Recently, she starred as a boxer in the 2004 film Million Dollar Baby. She was also featured in the documentary film Shadow Boxers. She has also had a brief cameo in the season 2 finale of the L Word as Dana's trainer.nl:Lucia Rijker
