Like a Prayer is the fifth album by singer Madonna, released in 1989 (see 1989 in music).
In 1998 Q magazine readers voted Like a Prayer the 99th greatest album of all time; in 2003 the TV network VH1 placed it at number 100. In Channel 4's 2005 '100 Greatest Albums' program the album was placed at number 8.
