Julian William Hendy Brazier TD MP (born July 24, 1953) is an English politician, and Conservative Party Member of Parliament for Canterbury. He is a Shadow Minister for Transport, and has been elected by the people of Canterbury in five successive elections since 1987.
Julian is married with 3 sons, and outside of Parliament has worked as a management consultant. As a former officer in the Territorial Army - for which he received the Territorial Decoration - Julian has a special interest in the armed forces and has long been an advocate of military issues in the House of Commons.
As a practicing Roman Catholic, Julian has been a long standing defender of traditional family values, and has won the coveted "Backbencher of the Year" award from the Spectator magazine for his performances in parliament.

Julian entered the House of Commons at the 1987 General Election, and after 3 successful years in parliament he was appointed as the Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Rt Hon Gillian Shephard, who was a Treasury Minister and soon to become Secretary of State for Employment.
After serving in the government for 3 years Julian resigned in order to take an active role in fighting cuts to Her Majesty's Armed Forces.
When the prime minister, the Rt Hon Sir John Major KG CH, resigned as Leader of the Conservative Party in 1995 Julian supported the Rt Hon John Redwood MP in his leadership challenge against him.
Despite half of Conservative MPs losing their seats, Julian was reelected to Parliament for the 3rd consecutive time in May 1997. Staying on the backbenches throughout the leadership of the Rt Hon William Hague MP, Julian was appointed an opposition whip in 2001.
Since his reappointment to the front bench in 2001 Julian has held a succession of shadow ministerial positions including: Shadow Minister for Work and Pensions; Shadow Minister for Home Affairs; Shadow Minister for International Development and Overseas Trade; and since May 2005 Shadow Minister for Transport.
Throughout his time in Parliament, Julian has taken a principled stand on the issues, especially when it comes to family and child related issues, and in the area of defence.
