Jason D. Fodeman is an undergraduate student at Johns Hopkins University who wrote a book critical of former U.S. president Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary Rodham Clinton, How to Destroy a Village: What the Clintons Taught a Seventeen Year Old (ISBN 1591298040)
His premise assumes the existence of a biased liberal establishment and a biased liberal media. After discussing the importance of values and morals, Foderman asserts that they can only be transgressed by those with the political support of the "liberal establishment". Under this premise, the Clintons are then held up for blame, Fodeman stating that they teach a false lesson to young people who may from their example feel they can "get away" with behavior that they would not be able to, because they would not have the shield of the "liberal media" that the Clintons had.
Ironically, considering that the premise of his book depends on the "liberal media", Fodeman has received a lot of press coverage, including from MSNBC, Fox News, C-SPAN, Rush Limbaugh, the New York Post, The Washington Times, and National Review. This amount of media attention is unusual for a book put out by PublishAmerica, widely considered to be a vanity press. (PublishAmerica pays a nominal $1 advance to its "authors", but then makes them bear most of the other costs that traditional publishers invest in their books.)
