Janemba is a fictional character in one of the anime Dragon Ball Z movies. He is a demon from the Dragon Ball mythology's version of Hell, called HFIL.

A creation of pure evil, Janemba one of the strongest villans in the Dragon Ball Z movies. He was created by accident when a lazy demon allowed all the evil to be released from a soul cleansing machine. Immediately after being released, he locked away King Yemma and allowed all the demons in HFIL (including, for example, Adolf Hitler and many past villains) to escape to Earth. Son Goku, Pikkon, and Vegeta team up to defeat Janemba while Son Gohan and the rest of the Z Fighters work to clean up the Earth. Janemba is finally defeated when Goku and Vegeta use the Fusion Dance (becoming Gogeta) and become strong enough to take him down.

Janemba has 2 forms. His first is a chubby and very large fellow. This form uses his power in a childlike fashion to morph HFIL/HELL into his own colourful fantasy playground. Goku appears and fights Janemba for a while, who has some humourous attacks such as creating miniture versions of himself and of Goku and punching him around from portals. Eventually Goku ascends to Super Saiyan 3 and attempts to kill Janemba, who transforms into the more powerful Super Janemba.

Super Janemba

Super Janemba is the more powerful form of Janemba and, unlike his previous form, is deadly serious. Once again, HFIL/HELL morphs into Super Janemba's fantasy which is a desolate grey graveyard of spikes and dust. Super Janemba wields a fearsome red sword which he uses to almost kill Goku but Vegeta saves him.

In his final or Super form, Janemba's techniques include a type of deconstruction/reconstruction teleporting, portals which he can attack through, and a powerful sword capable of shooting energy out in strikes.

Super Janemba is slightly more powerful than Super Saiyan 3 Goku and a lot more powerful than Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta. Realising that neither of them can beat him, Goku teaches Vegeta the fusion dance so that they may get enough power to win the fight, however Vegeta messes up the performance and they transform into Fat Gogeta, the failed fusion. Unable to fight or ascend, Super Janemba beats the life out of Fat Gogeta until the fusion wears off. Pikkon appears and helps fight Super Janemba but is quickly beaten. However it buys Goku and Vegeta enough time to fuse properly, becoming the fearsome Super Saiyan 2 Gogeta.

With more than enough power to defeat Janemba, SS2 Gogeta kicks him about a bit, then creates a Soul Punisher with his left hand and throws it at Super Janemba, exorcising all the evil spirits from his body. Because Super Janemba is an evil spirit, he is effectivley destroyed, causing him to revert back to a terrified Tank Boy.
