Sizzle cymbal.
This is an 18" Royal medium, made of brass in Taiwan in the early 1970s. Not the best cymbal to say the least. It has been fitted with six genuine Zildjian cymbal rivets in the traditional pattern but upside down, heads on the underside, presumably for mounting bell down as a secondary ride. This gives a surprisingly good sound, similar to a small pang cymbal with rivets. Aasizzle1.jpg is a detail of one of the rivets seen from below.
