"I Drove All Night" is the name of a song recorded by 1980's icon and singer Cyndi Lauper for her third album "A Night to Remember," which was released in 1989. While the album was not as successful as her previous releases, the song was a radio hit in the USA and a number one hit in other countries.
The track was originally penned for singer Roy Orbison. In 1987, the songwriters recorded Orbison singing two takes of the song, but nothing was done with the tapes until after Orbison's death. Roy's version, remixed by Jeff Lynne, would appear on his posthumous King of Hearts album. The track has since been covered by many others too, most notably by Céline Dion.
