Hot Springs Village is a census-designated place located in Garland and Saline counties in Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 8,397.

Hot Springs Village is located at 34°39'52" North, 92°59'46" West (34.664504, -92.996192)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 102.2 km² (39.5 mi²). 98.2 km² (37.9 mi²) of it is land and 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.85% water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 8,397 people, 4,295 households, and 3,221 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 85.5/km² (221.4/mi²). There are 5,121 housing units at an average density of 52.1/km² (135.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 97.98% White, 0.94% Black or African American, 0.14% Native American, 0.19% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.20% from other races, and 0.55% from two or more races. 1.01% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 4,295 households out of which 6.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.5% are married couples living together, 2.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.0% are non-families. 23.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 18.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.94 and the average family size is 2.22.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 6.6% under the age of 18, 1.7% from 18 to 24, 8.0% from 25 to 44, 27.2% from 45 to 64, and 56.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 67 years. For every 100 females there are 88.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $41,875, and the median income for a family is $48,958. Males have a median income of $35,236 versus $20,313 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $24,492. 2.5% of the population and 1.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 5.6% of those under the age of 18 and 1.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
