Heritage Hills is a hamlet (and census-designated place) (CDP) located in the town of Somers in Westchester County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 3,683.
Geography
Heritage Hills is located at 41°20'18" North, 73°41'50" West (41.338374, -73.697321)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²). 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,683 people, 2,119 households, and 1,146 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 615.6/km² (1,591.0/mi²). There are 2,290 housing units at an average density of 382.8/km² (989.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.99% White, 0.87% African American, 0.03% Native American, 1.47% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.08% from other races, and 0.57% from two or more races. 1.09% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,119 households out of which 5.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.6% are married couples living together, 3.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 45.9% are non-families. 43.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 30.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 1.72 and the average family size is 2.25.
