Goodrich, Michigan

Goodrich is a village located in Genesee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 1,353. The village is located within Atlas Township.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 6.2 km² (2.4 mi²). 6.1 km² (2.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.04 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.67% water.

Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,353 people, 494 households, and 385 families residing in the village. The population density is 222.3/km² (576.3/mi²). There are 526 housing units at an average density of 86.4/km² (224.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.52% White, 0.22% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.07% from other races, and 0.44% from two or more races. 1.03% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 494 households out of which 44.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.6% are married couples living together, 8.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.9% are non-families. 20.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.70 and the average family size is 3.12.

In the village the population is spread out with 29.6% under the age of 18, 5.5% from 18 to 24, 35.0% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 8.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 101.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.4 males.

The median income for a household in the village is $65,089, and the median income for a family is $74,063. Males have a median income of $55,000 versus $31,641 for females. The per capita income for the village is $26,089. 2.7% of the population and 1.6% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 1.0% of those under the age of 18 and 6.3% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
