Golders Green is a place in the London Borough of Barnet. It is principally a retail district centred on the Golders Green Road, and the cross roads with the Finchley Road. There is a tube station, a bus station with services available to many parts of London, and a national coach station. Golders Green has had a thriving Jewish community since the 1900s. Dunstan Road (http://www.unitedsynagogue.org.uk/syn_profiles/golders_green.htm) synagogue opened in 1922. There are now a number of synagogues and schools. During the winter festival of Chanuka a large Chanukia, a nine branch candle holder, is lit each night of the festival's eight days.
