Glenwood Quagmire is a character on the television cartoon program, Family Guy. Notable for his prodigious libido, he is voiced by the show's creator and lead writer, Seth MacFarlane.
On the show Glen is the next door neighbor and best friend of Peter Griffin (even though Quagmire frequently spies on and fantasizes about Peter's wife, Lois). When he is not hanging out with the guys, Quagmire is often seen trying to get with chicks, whether it's a cheesy date with an unlucky woman or some form of a blowup doll. It has been suggested that he is not above rape and he seems to have little long-term affection for women. When one of his partners casually asked what he did for a living after waking up in bed beside him, Quagmire happily responded by saying "I've got a question for you too: why are you still here?"
He has built up a resistance to Mace, due to it being used on him so often. His penis has been caught in unusual places so often that when he calls 911 he says things like "Hello, 911? It's Quagmire. Yeah...it's in a window this time." Some of his dialogue often directly implies that he is an ephebophile.
Quagmire's house is typical of swingers from the 60s and 70s and has multiple electronic advancements, including a full revolving bar and bed. Quagmire's friend Peter Griffin has referred to Quagmire as a "heartless sex hound" in his presence while they were both in mixed company, yet Quagmire seems to casually acknowledge the fact and didn't seem to mind at all.
Despite his sex-crazed nature Quagmire is portrayed as generally upbeat and high in spirits. Despite many crushing defeats, he never gives up.
Glen Quagmire has also served in the Navy, was once shown to work with at a police station, and works as a commercial airline pilot.
Quagmire's ideal woman was Taylor Hanson, who he is horrified to find out is a man.
Had an affair with Loretta Brown in Season 4.
