Ginuwine (born Elgin Baylor Lumpkin on October 15 1976 in Washington, DC) is an African American R&B singer. Signed to Epic Records since the mid-1990s, Ginuwine has released a number of platinum-selling LPs and hit singles, becoming one of the most successful R&B artists of his period.

Ginuwine graduated from Prince Georges Community College with a paralegal degree, and soon afterwards broke into the music industry, becoming a part of Jodeci member Devante's Swing Mob collective. Here, he met songwriter/producer Missy Elliott and producer Timbaland, who became his main collaborators through the 1990s. His first single, "Pony", showcased Ginuwine's smooth vocals and Timbaland's innovative productions style, and the two became a hit-making duo. After the 100% Ginuwine album, Ginuwine and Timbaland grew apart, and producers such as R. Kelly have crafted hits for him since then.
