According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.6 km² (1.8 mi²). 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and 1.2 km² (0.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 25.84% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,561 people, 893 households, and 729 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 743.5/km² (1,928.7/mi²). There are 925 housing units at an average density of 268.5/km² (696.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.25% White, 1.17% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.59% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.43% from other races, and 1.44% from two or more races. 2.93% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 893 households out of which 37.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 68.9% are married couples living together, 8.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 18.3% are non-families. 13.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.87 and the average family size is 3.17.
