Flag of Lithuania
From Academic Kids
The flag of Lithuania was adopted on March 20, 1989. The same colours had previously been used by the inter war independent state of Lithuania, but then in ratio 2:3. From 1989 to 2004 the ratio was 1:2, the same used for the Soviet Lithuanian flag.
As from September 1, 2004, the ratio was changed to 3:5.
Yellow color in the flag symbolizes light and sun, green is for grass and red represents the blood that was shed for Lithuania.
