Falco Lombardi is an fictional anthropomorphic falcon video game character who acts as Fox McCloud's right-hand man in Nintendo's Star Fox series. His past is mysterious, always avoiding conversations of what he did before joining the team. It is known, however, that he is a former member of a gang of Space Hot-Rodders. Falco is seen as the finest pilot of the Star Fox team, possessing a high skill level when at the cockpit of an Arwing. Shortly after the story of Star Fox 64, he left the team. Where he went and why is unknown. Falco is back with the Star fox team at the beginning of Star Fox Assault. He is labeled as the "Ace pilot" of the Star fox team on Nintendo's Japanese Star Fox Assault website.

It should be noted that Falco did not have a major role in the game Star Fox Adventures, only appearing at the very end to save the day. Falco is not a playable character in the original Super Smash Bros. game. However, he is present in the sequel, Melee, as a light, fast, close combat fighter
Super Smash Bros. Melee trivia
Falco is one of the hidden characters in Super Smash Bros. Melee and Fox's clone in gameplay terms. To unlock Falco, the player must beat the 100-Man-Melee in Multi-Man Melee mode, or play 300 matches of Versus Mode. What Fox has in Speed, Falco makes up with his own distinct moves. Falco's blaster has a slower ROF (Rate of Fire) than Fox's blaster. However, Falco's blaster stuns his opponents while Fox's blaster does not. He also jumps higher than Fox can, but falls back toward the ground more quickly than Fox.
