Diamond Beach is a census-designated place and place in Lower Township, Cape May County, New Jersey. As of the 2000 census, the place had a total population of 218.

Geography

Diamond Beach is located at 38°57'34" North, 74°51'10" West (38.959534, -74.852841)Template:GR.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the place has a total area of 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 218 people, 103 households, and 73 families residing in the place. The population density is 526.1/km² (1,404.7/mi²). There are 1,017 housing units at an average density of 2,454.2/km² (6,553.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.33% White, 2.29% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.92% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.46% from two or more races. 1.38% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 103 households out of which 16.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.2% are married couples living together, 7.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.1% are non-families. 24.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.12 and the average family size is 2.47.

In the place the population is spread out with 12.4% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 17.4% from 25 to 44, 39.4% from 45 to 64, and 25.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 52 years. For every 100 females there are 100.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 91.0 males.
