David Zindell

David Zindell (born November 28, 1952) is a U.S. science fiction author with a degree in mathematics. His first published story was "The Dreamer's Sleep" in Fantasy Book in 1984 and he won the Writers of the Future contest the following year. He was nominated for the 'best new writer' Hugo Award in 1986.
[Neil] David Zindell was born in Toledo, Ohio. He attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, where he earned a B.A. in mathematics in 1984. He continues to live in Boulder, Colorado.
Zindell's science fiction novels, beginning with Neverness (1988), work to overcome the dichotomy between materialism and spirituality, being in part a mathematical search for the Source. His fantasy series, the EA Cycle is a grail-like exploration of the evolutionary progress of consciousness.
