Columbia Business School (of Columbia University) is one of the highest ranked business schools in the United States. It is generally ranked in the top 10 business schools in the country by US/News and World Report and in the top 3 in the more internationally influential Financial Times. In its 2005 rankings, The Financial Times ranked Columbia Business School 3rd in the world for the fourth year in a row. Columbia Business School leverages the vast array of Columbia University Graduate Schools in such areas as Economics, Journalism, International Affairs and Law to enhance its MBA and PhD programs. The current edition of the Princeton Review Guide to the Best Business Schools rates the school as the second most difficult MBA program to enter.
Famous alumni include Warren Buffett, Mario Gabelli, Senator Frank Lautenberg , White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles , Senator Robert Kasten. Rochelle Lazarus, Henry Kravis and Sally Krawcheck.
The faculty includes Nobel Prize winner Joseph Stiglitz and the current Dean is the former Presidential Council of Economic Advisor's Chairman Glenn Hubbard.
