Claudia Drexelius

Claudia Drexelius (b. 1963?) is a prostitute who became the most successful contestant in the 2003 season (as of early December) of the German version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?.
When she won €500,000 on German RTL's version of the show, a few of the ten million viewers recognized her, a Bremen resident. These viewers phoned RTL, pointing the television station to her promotional website.
Swarmed by the German media, Drexelius admitted her profession, but acknowledged she would quit the industry, with such a large sum of money in her possession.
Drexelius said that "This chapter is now closed for me. With the money I won at the show I want to start a new life. I am not proud of having worked as a prostitute. But when my boyfriend left me when I was in my thirties, I had no education, no income and heaps of debts. So I started working in this trade."
