A brief view at charr

The charr control the land north of the Great Northern Wall of Ascalon. After the great war (searing) the charr beasts occupied the lands there, that lie in ruin after the great war.

The charr look like beasts, and they are beasts. They have sharp teeth, a big set of claws, and are covered by hair everywhere. The charr vary in sizes, like the warriors are mostly bigger then the monks of the charr army. You also have the leaders of the charr army or a warband leader, who are even bigger then the warriors.

The army of the charr is extremly big, as you will find out in the co-operative mission in Ascalon, you'll see that the charr army is held together by some of the charr leaders. These leaders are bigger then the average charr and have higher levels. A few of these are: Onaona Kubkub, Spar the Ravager and Cobble Poundstone. These are just a few, there are many of these "leader charr" throughout Ascalon.

The charr love combat, the are dedicated to battle and enjoy every second of it, luckily the charr aren't that smart. Although you'll occasionally run into a charr ambush, most of the time you can fight your way out if it pretty easy. Still, fighting the charr is hard, an ambush may be easily defeated but when you fight against a whole horde, some kind of tactic is needed.

The advised tactic when fighting against charr, or any other army in Tyria, is to neutralize the monks first. Without their healing the rest is pretty weak, try kill the other casters first. This will break the warriors support forcing them to run away or die trying. Since the charr aren't that smart, you'll mainly see the second option ocurring

Charr gods

Charr like fire, and there's a reason for that. Not much is known about the charr gods but what we do know is easy to spot, once you know it. Charr basically worship fire gods, every where they go, they take braziers with them. The charr also have huge Flame Temples, the one in Northern Ascalon is properbly the biggest yet found. It's guarded well by the Charr Flame Keepers, powerfull charr mages who have the honor to keep the big braziers lit to please their unknown gods. Over time, humans have been able to see if a charr camp was occupied or not by the braziers. Are they lit? Occupied, otherwise they moved on.
