Beal City, Michigan

Beal City is an unincorporated community located in Isabella County, Michigan. It is a Census-designated place (CDP) used for statistical purposes. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had an estimated population of 345. It is situated within the Isabella Indian Reservation of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Council.

Beal City is at Template:Coor dms. The FIPS place code is 06360. The elevation is 865 feet above sea level.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 10.4 km² (4.0 mi²). 10.4 km² (4.0 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 345 people, 124 households, and 91 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 33.2/km² (86.1/mi²). There are 131 housing units at an average density of 12.6/km² (32.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 98.84% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.29% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.29% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 124 households out of which 38.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.7% are married couples living together, 4.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.6% are non-families. 20.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.24.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 31.3% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 16.2% from 45 to 64, and 14.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 34 years. For every 100 females there are 98.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.2 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $37,500, and the median income for a family is $50,250. Males have a median income of $31,875 versus $33,750 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $16,185. 10.3% of the population and 5.5% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 8.2% of those under the age of 18 and 8.5% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
