Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident is the second book in the Artemis Fowl written by Irish author Eoin Colfer.

The Plot
Having successfully restored his family fortune, twelve-year-old criminal mastermind Artemis Fowl then begins the search for his father, Artemis Senior, who supposedly drowned on a ship carrying 250,000 cans of cola to Russia – one of his few legitimate enterprises. There's just one little problem: To do this, he needs to get the help of his former nemesis Holly Short of LEPrecon.
After a bit of convincing, Commander Root allows Holly to assist Fowl, on the condition that he himself also comes along. With the aid of his bodyguard Butler and Foaly, the paranoid centaur in charge of the LEPrecon's technology operations, Fowl manages to track down his father, who has been kidnapped by the Russian Mafia.
Meanwhile, down below, war has broken out between the LEPrecon and Opal Koboi, Foaly's evil rival. Koboi, whose company Koboi Labs manufactures most of the LEP's equipment, has designed everything so that she can remotely sabotage it and render the LEP useless. Meanwhile, she has recruited a goblin criminal group to assist her. She plans to take over the entire world with the assistance of Briar Cudgeon, a former LEP officer who was discharged following the Fowl incident, but her plot soon fails when Fowl and his accomplices reveal Cudgeon's true intentions.
The story ends with Koboi being jailed, and Artemis's father – to his son's great shock – decides to go legitimate. Artemis is still planning one last big thing, though...
