Android 16 is a fictional character in the Japanese manga, Dragon Ball Z.

Android 16, who was never activated in Mirai Trunks' timeline, was activated shortly after Dr. Gero had awakened Android 17 and Android 18. Android 16's only purpose in life was to fight and destroy Goku.

On the arrival of Cell, Android 16 managed to rip Cell's tail off, hoping to prevent him from using it to absorb anyone else. When Cell grew it back though, Android 16 realized that he was outmatched and resorted to his Hells Flash attack. Cell withstood the onslaught and was able to sneak behind Android 17, absorbing him to transform into the second stage, with more power and speed. After the transformation, he blasted Android 16, disfiguring his head and leaving him in need of repairs.

During the Super Vegeta-Cell fight, Cell had absorbed Android 18, becoming Perfect Cell. After Cell left, defeating both Vegeta and Super Trunks, Kuririn took Android 16 to Capsule Corp. for Bulma to repair. Upon repairing him, Bulma discovered a bomb within Android 16, possibly setup to destroy Goku. Bulma didn't want to take any chances, so she removed the bomb from his body.

During the Cell Games, Android 16 snuck up behind Cell while he was distracted by inflicting pain on Super Saiyan Gohan. 16 planned to self-destruct, not realizing that his bomb had been removed. Once it became known, Cell escaped his hold and blasted the android into pieces. Android 16's head was still active though, and he convinced Mr. Satan to throw him to Gohan so he could encourage the young warrior to release his anger and defend the Earth. Afterwards, Cell crushed the head with his foot, ending the life of the now peaceful android.fr:C-16
