Framework

The Framework computer software application was originally an integrated word processor, outliner, mini database and spreadsheet originally developed for personal computers using the DOS operating system - probably the first such integrated application when it was launched in the 1980s.

Framework's Functionality has now been expanded to include database, HTML generation and an object oriented interactive rapid application development (RAD) environment. It also includes a voice recognition capability for visually impaired and blind users.

Origins

The application was originally developed by Ashton-Tate in the 1980s.

Current Situation

Framework was sold to Selections & Functions, Inc - external link by Borland.

While it remains a DOS program, Framework is also compatible with most versions of Windows.
