Flemish Liberals and Democrats

A liberal flemish party, created in 1992 from the former PVV and a few other politicians from other parties.

Well know members include:

• Federal prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt
• Party leader Karel De Gucht
• Prime minister of Flanders Bart Somers

The party is in government since 1999. The current government, since June 2003, is with the cartel SP.a-Spirit, PS and MR.
