Compact Disc Digital Audio logo

The Compact Disc Digital Audio logo appears on all music CDss which are manufactured to Red Book standards.

Recently, because of measures against CD piracy, discs are being released upon which data is deliberately corrupted in order to prevent copying by making the CD unreadable on personal computers. This is causing controversy in the industry and among discerning consumers for many reasons, with Sony and Phillips warning that such discs do not conform to the Red Book standard, and thus should not have the logo displayed.

The logo itself was designed in 1979 by Brian Croucher of the Kell-ected! design and graphics company.
