\nCitrus County was created in 1887. It was named for the county's citrus trees and the citrus industry.Geography
\nAccording to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,002 km² (773 mi²). 1,512 km² (584 mi²) of it is land and 490 km² (189 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 24.49% water.Demographics
