Cheshire

Cheshire is a county in North West England. Its county town is the city of Chester. It borders onto Denbighshire, Derbyshire, Flintshire, Lancashire, Shropshire and Staffordshire, with a small border with Yorkshire along the 'pan handle'.

Cheshire's official title is the County of Chester. Cheshire is a contraction of "Chestershire".

Some northern parts of the county are effectively suburbs of Manchester or Liverpool, and many of those who work in these cities commute from other parts of the county.
