Bryophytes

The bryophytes are plants that lack vascular tubes. They are considered to be the most primitive division of true plants. The three classes or divisions of bryophytes are the mosses, liverworts and hornworts. It is believed that the bryophytes evolved from green algae, and then all other plants evolved from them.
