Tarpan

Der Tarpan ist ein Unpaarhufer.

Geschichte

Die wildlebenden Tarpane sind seit 1876 ausgestorben. In den 1930er Jahren wurden von Heinz Heck im Tierpark Hellabrunn Rückzüchtungsversuche gemacht. Dies geschah durch Kreuzung eins reinblütigen Przewalksi-Pferd-Hengstes mit isländischen und gotländischen Ponystuten. Auch in Polen hat man sehr urprüngliche Landpferde, in deren Adern eventuell noch Blut der im 19.Jahrhundert eingefangenen und an Bauern verteilte Tarpane fließt mit dem Ziel weitergezüchtet, den Anteil an Tarpanblut zu erhalten oder zu erhöhen.

The median income for a household in the village is $43,583, and the median income for a family is $43,229. Males have a median income of $36,944 versus $25,208 for females. The per capita income for the village is $13,898. 10.4% of the population and 8.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total people living in poverty, 15.7% are under the age of 18 and 8.0% are 65 or older.
