Black Hawk Down

Black Hawk Down is a book written by Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Mark Bowden chronicling the US Military's 1993 attempt to capture a Somali warlord in Mogadishu and the intense battle that resulted between US forces on duty with the United Nations and local militia and citizens. It is based on a series written for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

It was turned into a film of the same name by Ridley Scott.
