Battle of Wolf 359

In the fictional Star Trek universe, the Battle of Wolf 359 was the Federation's first major battle against the Borg. Admiral Hanson, of Starfleet Command, spearheaded the stand at Wolf 359. 11,000 federation personnel and thirty-nine ships were lost, including the USS Melbourne and Benjamin Sisko's ship, the USS Saratoga, which now stands as a Federation graveyard. The two-part Next Generation episode, Best of Both Worlds, and the Deep Space Nine episode, Emissary, chronicled the battle.
